ecm question

this might be a little bit lengthy, sorry.. i have a 1993 blazer with a 4.3 cpi injection. the engine is shot so i bought a 1995 blazer with the same engine ( the truck was totalled but the engine is good) i was told that if i used the 1995 motor i need to use the ecm and wirinng from the 1995 truck also. now my question is this.... the ecm on the 93 is located in the cab on the passenger side kick panel, the 95's is located under the hood on the passenger side..can i still use the 95's engine and ecm and wiring in my 93?. i know it sounds complicated but ive been looking for a 93 engine and it's very hard to find a good one without 300 km's on it. if i can use all the 95 parts in my 93 what kind of mods will i need to do?. i have access to a huge shop with lots of tools and have lots of time to do this repair, i just want to know if it will work.. thanks:grinyes:

the '95 engine will pretty much bolt right up to the '93. You don't have to change the wiring and the ECM from the '95 to the '93. You will have to buy a plug to cap the crankshaft position sensor hole and you will have to change out the distributor shaft from the '93 engine to the '95 engine. the EVAP system is a little different from the '95 to '93. Basiclly the parts that are on the '95 motor are not needed, you use the exsisting system on the '93. motor bolts right up to the '93 tranny. Fan and all accessories are the same at the fromt of the engine, with the exception of the alternator. Thats pretty much all I can think of at this point. with the exception of the above noted changes, it bolts right up, and no no need to change the ECM and wiring.

You'll want to keep the '93 transmission as well.
