There is another image from the rear but it is spread across 2 pages and I can't get it scanned just now (at work, not enough time to put 2 scans together!)

Cheers for the image.

I still don't like it, but hell I am a bit traditional now.

That is obviously a photoshop job using the normal V35 skyline and adding a few bits from the GTR concept car to it.

*Sigh* :(

Well... the marketing price of a skyline GTR (just my guess) would be around 50-90k (i know its a very broad range). If nissan was going to compete with Acura's NSX, selling brand new for 90k, then a 90k price for a GTR would be VERY reasonable. This baby has enough power to compete with cars that are 1.5x its price, such as the Mercedes Benz SL55, the Porsche GT2 (perhaps a TT). Thus... were talking a 0-60 range of 4.2 or under... pretty damn fast in my opinion...

Back to price... i doubt that Nissan (Infinity?) would sell this supercar at 90k.. i'm guessing more around the 70-80k range, or almost the price of the new w211 E55 AMG (which is also a competitor for speed.... its as fast as the SL55).

well that my first post here... any my $0.02... thanks for listening

 ghostchild316 seriously needs a wet kipper round the face! since when has a gt2 been able to be tuned up to 1000bhp or over, dont get me wrong i like the gt2 but the gt2 doesnt have a speed limiter on it and it doesnt have a 4 wheel drive and steering system that is second to none. also the rear engined rear wheel drive car, crap for cicuit racing, too much speed and not enough brake equals doughnuts and wasted tyres!!:bloated: HA!!!

I believe it is important to remember who has made the Skyline popular in this country and many other countries for that matter. The "younger" generation has (15-30). That is not to say that they are the ones who can afford a GTR but they are the one who are knowledgable when it comes to the potential of the car. My father for example who is in his 60's has been around cars since the early 70's (he is actually in a Corvette club). He and his friends have no idea what a Skyline as. This is the case with many of the older members of society (READ: the only ones who could afford a 90K Nisssan.)

My point?? Is for Nissan to price the car in 911, NSX, Viper territory, it would ignoring the entire portion of the market that has made the car what it has become today. 40-50K is a much more reasonalbe price. If Chevy can market a ZO6 at 52K than why can't Nissan do the same with the GTR????

Corvette bodies are manufactured of fiberglass unlike the skylines.Corvettes dont have an overhead camshaft engine like the skylines do.They have pushrod engines which are alot cheaper compared to a twinturbo charged DOHC I-6.If it wasnt for the pushrod engine, the corvette would have a much higher hood line.

No 4WD either just a FR layout with LSD stock(C5).

Anyone know what it's like drifting a vette?

You have to look at the basic costs. A brand spankin new 350 GT (premium) would run about $30,000 U.S. plus tax. in japan. If you were to ship it to the states that would make the price a bit higher. Depending if NISSAN wanted to go that route. Now if it were a new GTR the price would go up considerably. My guess would be well under 80 grand though. Just a guess.

As far as vettes go, my old one was not much for drifting but it was fun running through narrow roads at high speeds.

Yeah, the vette's low-cut trim line gives it amazing aerodynamics which makes it very good for handling narrow roads without losing control
