Hey guys I'm in the process of a head gasket replacement and thought that it might be a good idea to replace my leaky oil pan gasket as well. Got a question though, do I need to remove the exhaust pipe in order to get the pan out? I remember back in the day I did this on a ford truck and had to remove the pipe but the hanes manuel for the civic does not say to remove it. Please help me out guys.
Thanks,
Jerry

if youre doing a headgasket... which involves unbolting the exhaust manifold... it should drop down enough to clear anyway

Thanks alot Greenblurr93......I really appreciate it. It seems as though wiseguy01 reply was.......laking in the knowledge, usefullness and integrity portion of the concept of this forum. I have seen too many posts by him that nothing but frustrate people that just want some help/advise.
Thanks a lot for everything and keep up the good samaritan work. You rock.

well it can be installed without removing the pan but the proper way is to remove the manifold but remember this the exhaust gasket will have to be replaced
