ok so i bought a new pro 5.0 shifter for my 2000 trans am ws6, 6 speed..let me start by saying its a great shifter..2nd to 3rd is a breeze now..but there are some minor noises coming out of the shifter area now, that werent there before..first there is some rattling, everything is tight..i triple checked all the bolts..there also is a very very minor whistle..which i think is from not a great seal from the shifter to the car, and its tranny noise coming out....the whistling is not really an issue..but the rattling is kinda always there but you cant really hear it till you get on it, basically it doesnt matter what gear your in either..i checked to see if it was hitting the stops from the pro 5.0 but it appeared to be fine..any ideas or suggestions???? would be much appreciated before i rip the center councel apart again..thanks

ok so today i took it all back apart and made a rubber gasket to put inbetween the 5.0 shifter and the tranny..it did cut out like 75% of the noise that was there..but there still is some noise..is there like a brake in period for these shifters? or anyone have any ideas?

well i figured out that the pro 5.0 are natorious for the "buzzing" noise and minor rattling especially at high rpms..i dont think i can stand it for my everyday driver car..anyone heard anything about the b&m ones..are they any better? theres the link of the b&m one..

Can you identify the source of the niose? If so, 'think outside of the box', there's always a solution. :)

Clutch in not moving engine running still make noise?
Just make more rubber vibration dampeners for various areas.
Even after I did that to my tr56 it still whines a little audibly, but thats just high speed gear wine.
If you find theres no problems on the horizon, just turn the radio up a little. :p
