I am trying to put coil springs in the rear of my 93 town car. I think I read you are supposed to disconnect the shocks to gain enough clearance to install the coils. I dont see any shocks. Are they supposed to be there in a obvious location in plain view? Am I blind? I just got the car with the back end sitting on the ground. Is there supposed to be shocks and mabey someone left them off?

Yes, someone has removed your shocks. Here's the setup for 1993.

You can get a 1993 FSM from my webpage if you'd like...

I found where they go. Thank you.
I installed The springs. I bought them used for $20. They came from a ford crown victoria with a police package. The car rides great! It sits a little high without weight in it but it doesnt look too bad. Now I just need to figure out how to fool the check suspension light.

You decide to go with the coil spring conversion instead of repairing the pump? It's cheaper in the long run. You will need to unplug the RAS module in the trunk to get the light on the dash to go out. The module is located behind the on off switch.
