want to still have a/c after replacing engine

I have a 91 camaro and I replaced the 3.1 weak in the knees engine with the ram jet 350.. on the 91 v6, I believe the computer gave a signal to start the ac but I am eliminating the computer for cosmetic purposes and because the check engine light is on and i wont be able to pass inspection with it on... my question is has anyone ever done this conversion be4 and did they just put a switch in place of the computer to turn the ac on?
