ok so here is the deal. i work at a honda dealership and my manager has traded in his si(sedan) for a pilot. it only has 7400 miles on it. i can purchase it for 18,100(good deal eh?) plus tax title and license. i really like the si especially when the vtec kicks in. the interior is sweet and it is fairly quick.it is reliable, plus with working for honda i get parts at dealer cost and get a discounted rate on labor. the only problem i have with the si is it is alittle high in my budget and it is not turbo.
i am also looking at wrx's 04-05 body style, i like the turbo and look. the price is quite a bit 14-16 g's and they are quicker. i wouldnt have the benefit of service or discount parts if i ever needed them.
give me some thoughts on what you would do...:2cents:

Well these cars are from 2 different worlds. I myself right now would choose the SI. I love the SI sedan it looks and run great. The WRX is an awesome car but the only problem I have is that I will always be wishing and it was an STI. I'll be hooking it up knowing that it will never be as quick as an STI. I am not being bias because this is the Honda section, I am just being honest because I have driven the STI countless times and it kicks the WRXs ass. You also get deals at Honda which also would sway my decision. Do you live in an area where you will need AWD? Each car has it benefits and I am sure there is one you really want over the other. Just pretend they are the same price and you don't work at Honda which one do you choose? Either way both cars are awesome and quick and fun to drive in there own way. Goodluck!

For what it's worth, my Si ('06 Coupe) was able to beat, stock for stock, a WRX. Unless it's an STi, the Civic should take it. Have fun!

I would take the SI over the WRX anyway. I think you made a good choice.

so i had the chance to drive my buddies wrx wagon(with a few upgrades)
here is how i compared the two-
WRX- the wrx i drove had a few upgrades sti turbo, alum flywheel, sti exhaust, etc. so i was basically driving a sti with a 5speed.
the pros-it had a lot of power, it handled really, i loved hearing the turbo wind up, and the ride was alot softer than the si.i also liked how roomy the engine bay is.
the cons-the clutch was super stiff comapared to the si, the tranny was hard to get into gears. the interior was pretty bland. it made me feel like was in a cheap econo box, instead of a sport tuned sedan.
SI- the si is bone stock
pros- it has a really nice sound to the exhaust, and it still has pretty decent power. the vtec is awesome. the interior is top notch, it feels like the car becomes part of my body. the six speed shifts nice and smooth. the sound system is awesome(for stock). it handles pretty well.
cons- it is not as powerful as other cars for the cost. it has a pretty bouncy ride that i am still getting used too. the engine bay is freeakin cramped. i will probably have to drop the whole engine if i ever decide to turbo it.
all in all i think i am happy with my choice. i figure in the next year or so i will be able to find a good deal on a supercharger and will have a blast from there.:)
