Okay guys, I REALLY need you guys' help. I've been dealing with a company that I sent my parts to to have chromed and everything has just been extremely bad since I've gotten them back!
To begin with, stupid me sent them my screws/bolts/washers to be chromed and of the 74 I sent them, 8 pieces are missing.
Secondly, they acid dipped my VIC motor and corroded the whole piece.
Thirdly, look what they did to the VIC gear:

How will the valves inside move without the ridges on the gear piece to grip onto the motor?
That's just the beginning...check out my plenum (!!!):

And just when I thought the stupidity of this company was over with, today I receive my second package and my WHOLE oil dipstick was chromed. I wanted just the tip be chromed and they went and did the whole thing. So what happens when I'm putting it in and it bends too much? Chrome flakes into my engine. WTF??? Damnit, I'm so sick of this company!
What do I do guys? I paid through PayPal and am highly considering filing a complaint but according to the company, all they have to do is prove that the service was done (with pictures) and that they sent my parts back (tracking #) and I pretty much don't have a case. Is this true? So if they damaged my parts or I'm not satisfied with their service but if they performed it then I get nothing back? Furthermore, they pretty much said that if I filed a complaint then all bets are off (meaning that they won't even redo parts or pay for damaged parts) which is why I'm very hesitant in filing a report. Do you guys think PayPal can help in any way???
Gosh, I'm just so sick of this crap...please let me know your thoughts... :(

HOLY SHITE! Man you really need to threaten to firebomb their building! my god.
Well, look, obviously those parts are worthless now so you need to get them replaced. You need to call someone from paypal methinks. Dont file a claim, first call and talk to the head of whatever company this is and tell him that you post on here and often. He needs to replace the work and the parts and then give you some money back for lost time. paypal or not, in court the shop has no case so dont let them bully you, they returned damaged parts case closed.
ugh, im sure someone else will chime in also.
Im sorry dude, man that really sucks.

They're actually located in TX...not sure how close Sunnyvale is to you.
As far as asking for a refund goes, I already did and they won't give me a refund. :(
You guys know what the worse part about this is? ...I freakin' paid a grand ($1,000.00!!!) for this crap! **sigh**

Give paypal a call and as soon as somebody answers ask to talk to one of their supervisors (escalation Specialist) because they are the ones that know everything. Then talk to them and see what they say. Also approach it like you are not ticked off at paypal and that it is the company (Believe me I know) and you will get better service. Also let them know that you have pictures because they can receive the pics to their emails and everything. Then go to 3si and tell everybody about that company. Anyhow good luck because man that just sucks.

Okay, I called PayPal and they pretty much said that if the parts were shipped back then the quality of the work does not matter. Rare instances it can but usually it doesn't. This brings up a big problem because if I take the risk and file a claim and PayPal does not side in my favor, I'm screwed because the company won't reimburse me for anything anymore. :( To trust the company and have them come through for me though is almost just as big of a risk! Would you guys still file?

hmmm. i guess you should send the crap back and have them fix it, give them a deadline to meet (like 3 weeks) and if they cant handle it then you need to file for paypal or just go to court. Im telling you a juge would certainly rule in your favor and give you a full refund of your money. only issue would be the jurisdiction. please post this on 3si though.

maybe you should tell them you've talked to a lawyer, and are strongly considering court, maybe mention all the bad publicity they will recieve

if they send work of that quality out the door, i cant imagine they're all that concerned with bad publicity. They're probably only interested in a quick profit.

Man this pisses me off, I mean what do they expect will happen when they send parts back like that?
