Any Panoz Esperante owners out there?

Just wondering if there are any other owners interested in communicating. I see the roadster owners have a pretty complete site. Maybe we might also want to put together something.

Hi, just saw your post. I was wondering the same thing--"are there any Esperante owners out there?". I've got an '04 GTLM. It would be nice to communicate with someone that has one of these cars... the last time I saw one on the road was in 2002. I'm in CA. Where are you located?

Hi, nice to hear from you, 02Panoz. Since I rarely see any Esperantes and even fewer owners to talk to, just wondering a couple of things...
is your steering column/steering wheel perpendicular to the dash or is it slightly canted to one side like mine? And, what's your plan in case of a flat tire? I've got 3,000 miles on mine now and really enjoying it! How about you?

Just bought a 2001 (13th one built) and plan to fly to San Francisco this Friday and drive it back home to Oregonb with my 6 year old son. I see we're and small group but perhaps we can get some info on this site and use it as a good resource. I'm active in both the Ferrari and Maserati chat rooms and know that the forums can be both fun and helpfull.

Things I would like to see lsited is.

1) production numbers with options and color codes.
2) perhaps a registry would be good.
3) Panoz Esperante specific DYI for tuning and maintenance.
4) Photo Thread: I will wait until next week when I get it home and photo'd and if it isn't started I'll get one going.

Hi Ackmann,
I've had my gtlm about a year now and haven't found any other owners in my area. Let me know if you'd like our esperantes to meet while you're in SF.
Best regards

That actually sounds like fun. I am flying in with my 6 year son around 9:30am and going to catch a shuttle or taxi to San Rafael to finish paperwork and take delivery. Was planning to drive around SF a bit and check it out as I've never been. I also plan to swing by Fantasy Junction and check out their classic cars before heading north and ending the night around Redding area.

So are you in or close to SF? Do want want to meet at Fantasy Junction? Any other suggestions of things to check out with my boy while were in town?

Thanks.

Wayne

Hello Ackmann,

I've got a 2005 and I'm located in Eugene. Just purchased it a week ago, threw out my back and have driven it only once. Pretty fun though.

Oh we're getting together for sure. I host a Cars & Coffee in Salem once a month and also attend the one in Tualatin with the Ferrari and Lambo guys sometime.

I'm establishing a new Panoz forum on Left Lane Lifestyle check out the site and register your car when you can. I'm working with Panoz to try and give us some support of info for this.

and more exciting news...RELEASED BY RACER MAGAZINE: If you're a sports car racing fan, you've probably looked at the incredible machines roaring by you at tracks such as Road Atlanta or Sebring and thought it would be a dream come true to drive one of those cars. Starting this month, Panoz LLC can make that dream come true, as the company begins producing road versions of the famous Panoz cars.
Surrounded by the cars that made the Panoz name famous at the world's most celebrated circuits, racing media got a sneak peek at the new Panoz showroom and museum in Braselton, Ga., Wednesday night. Dominating the company's 10,000 square foot showroom and museum are reminders of the Panoz racing heritage – and now, clients can purchase street legal versions of any of these amazing cars.
“We will be producing all these cars, on a one-off customer basis, for the street,” explained John A. Leverett, Panoz LLC Vice President of Sales. “If you want a Panoz GTR-1 for the street, we will produce one for you. If you want a Panoz roadster, we'll make one for you. Each car will have an all-new carbon/aluminum chassis, new powertrain, all new custom interior – but we won't do full run production. Customers will get to choose enough on the car to make it uniquely theirs.
“To have a car with the Panoz racing heritage, with all the bodywork and substance that regulations will allow on the street, will be a very distinctive experience.”
