4k seems a bit high for a 96 rs? i paid less than that for my 97 4 years ago. although mine was in need of a little work...

if you can afford it, buy a gst/gsx, otherwise you'll be kicking yourself later

yeah... if its non turbo and not AWD, dont get it... just go buy a talon ^.^ but if you do.. make sure you get a parts car, if you dont you will break your driver and be kicking youself later.. i know from experience :(

well i looked at a gst yesterday with an aem cold air intake and a turbonetics blowoff valve its in very good shape and has 110k miles on it.....
i checked for parts online they barely have any for the rs and then i checked for parts for the gst and there are like lots and lots of parts...
i didnt wanna get a gsx buecause one of my buddies got one and he doesnt like the AWD i dont know why though so i think im goin with the gst but it has that gay color!!!!! (burgundy)
oh and a greddy exhaust is on there too

AWD owns all. I am so glad I didn't settle on a FWD turbo DSM when I test drove them. Yeah, they were still decent cars and all, but there was no comparison to the AWD. The AWD is great for snow and ice also. It's like a tank in it, so I donno why you would have had problems with it devildust. Maybe it's cause you were driving it entirely too hard while turning. Even at that, you should have been able to kick the ass end around while the front end would still pull it. I like it because it's like having a RWD in the snow, but it can go anywhere without getting stuck.

Also, the AWD is great at the track if you are planning on racing it. FWD or RWD will sit on the line spinning a good bit while the AWD doesn't lose traction so easily. Unless you have it massively built, then you can still spin all 4 wheels if you need to.

On another note... Why did you post a thread about this in the section for members projects?... This is definitely not where this is supposed to go... Moved to Off-topic section...

Don't let these bastards tell you theirs something wrong with the RS. Its an awesome car, the AWDs and turbos are just better. Either way you go you will not be dissapointed.

No. According to my insurance co., my RS and TSI AWD are at the same rate. Yours may be different though, nothing wrong with making a phone call to check.

Depends on the insurance company. AWD in their terms area safer cars, so yeah it would be a bit cheaper insurance for the GSX. By the same token, the GST would be higher insurance because of it being a sports car. Turbos, # of doors, transmissions, power options, car color, etc. can all have an impact. Depends the insurance carrier.

I love taking the GSX out on wet roads to go play. As soon as the turbo spools in 2nd I'm getting sideways. I just keep wondering what kind of power id have to be putting down to do that on a dry road. As for the insurance, when I was searching for my eclipse. I called about a 99 gst, and a 98 gsx. The GSX was more. I still don't see how, since the AWD could be considered a safety feature. Who knows.

Well its even more of a sports car. If they used their common sense they would not ask for more money out of a AWD. And white? Why is white the cheapest color? I take offense to that cause I painted mine that color:banghead:
