Who's gonna go see it? Cloverfield. The hype leaves me with some idea of disappointment, I don't want tp psych myself up too much but I'm so0o0o0o gonna see it tonight!

HA most anticipated I think not. No desire to see this movie which seems to have an unknown writer, and director (mainly TV shows, but Lost is awesome) and unknown cast...Also the commercial spots didn't say to much which leads me to believe they are hyping this up due to lack of substance. Not really in the mood to see a bunch of 20 somethings run around Manhatten because Slushy is attacking. I'll be waiting for DVD on this one.

i'll probably see it but i'm not expecting anything too great. it seems like a movie that will probably be entertaining, but i don't want tp psych myself up because it also looks like a movie that's just trying to hype itself up to cover for the bad movie. i'll have to see the reviews

It's short. I just checke the length, only 83 minutes. Dang.

Ok then, freakin' awesome! The only reason to not like this movie is the type of filming it is but it really did it well. Felt like a roller coaster ride! And oh my, just...I want to spoil it but I don't. Still great movie and it ran short, just abit, it filled you up but definitely left questions.
I sence a sequel.
I sence a sequel.

I sence a sequel.
Thats the worst part about it all. Everything has to be a goddamn franchise now. You can't just be one and done. I already read that if a sequel gets the green light, it will be of the same attack, just from a different person's camera.
As for that ambiguous ending, I saw it coming about 10 minutes before it happened but I was still mad. But the greatest part of the whole movie is when you hear "Yeah! That's that shit! Woohoo!" and then it all breaks bad for him.

Ditto and I wanted to see it! They so0o0o could have developed the story a bit more if they wanted. Like I Am Legend, length of the movie is what left me disappointed the most. Still IMO an awesome movie.

How much longer could the movie be? That battery must have cost a fortune cause it held on strong for like 12 hours!!!
Damien
01-20-2008, 12:06 AM
Yeah, my fiancee mentioned that. I told her she wasn't suppose to think about that. Shouldn't have been 12hrs though. Since it start late late at night and ran till morn. 8hrs at the most which you can buy batteries like that. Well, they advertise them as such.
I've seen the monster before though. Can't recall where. And what's worse, i saw a internet vid like this. No huge monster but similar. Still good movie for action.

Yeah, I admit it had me tense a few times during the movie, so I guess it did what it was supposed to do. I just wish there had been something more to it. When you really sit back and think about it, there wasn't much to the movie other than a big ass creature and some dumb ass yuppies who refused to save themselves. I'm sorry, but if that shit went down in Chicago I'd be in the Accord haulin ass down to Florida ASAP

After thinking about it more...i still say dont see it. It left me feeling like a cheap whore for going to see it. It answered no questions even though many were brought up in the movie, i thought i would at least get SOME answers by some of the military guys they were with throughout the movie...but got nothing...nothing at all. The only reason i know that cloverfield is still alive is because at the beginning when the gov. dubbed over the first part of the tape it said "cloverfield sightings". I might see a second one if there's more to it than "omg!!!" every five seconds.

I won't say not to see Cloverfield, but be prepared to leave with an empty feeling inside. And Josh I totally agree, if the inevitable sequel has more substance than a crew of screaming idiots shuffling through the streets then I'll consider seeing it.

Well, it's my current favorite movie of the year. But it's the only movie I've seen this year. Jumper is next...well, after Definitely, Maybe.

The preview for jumper looks badass... but so did the preview for Cloverfield
Damien

^The preview for CLoverfiled looked interesting but not badass IMO. For Jumper it looks badass and of course it helps when you have a bad m*&^%$ f$#%^@# in it.

The first time I seen the preview for cloverfield, I though it would be cool. Then I seen the preview again and again and thought it would be like an M. Night Shyamalan movie, annoying. I need to see the monster to be "scared" of it. Not wondering what I supposed to be scared of till the last quarter of the movie and then see some cheesy costume or poor CGI "monster".

It's the "Blair Which Project" with a monster in it. I thought it was pretty cool, almost all of my friends I saw it with said it sucked! But then again I liked the Blair Which too.:dunno:
