I've read alot about the faulty speedometer clusters in the late model Chevy's and GMC trucks. Does anybody know if the factory warranty extension will cover the 2005 models? Most of the threads appear to be for 2003-04 models only. My buddy's 2005 just started the exact same thing and we're wondering what to expect the dealer to tell him about fixing it.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I got an appointment for my 05' this monday.
I called 1 dearship and they said it wouldnt be free, the next one said it would. So if you call and they say no, tell them whats on your mind and go to the next. My speedo, Tach, and volt meter is broken.

I have an 03 silverado and had the same problems. It is faulty stepper motors soldered to the back of each guage. If GM won't fix it free you might want to fix them yourself. You can buy the updated stepper motors on ebay for about $10 each and replace them yourself. That's what i did and it wasn't too hard to do. Good Luck.
