hi everyone---i have a water leak on the right side of my car under hood-how can i tell if its the water pump or the heater core there is no water on the floor inside the car -there is no hoses busted or leaking? it appear to be alittle behind the water pump but i cant see the water drip--- 1999 regal 138000 gs supercharged

Is this water leaking or coolant? You should clarify. If coolant you could have a bad seal on the water pump and it is leaking out the weep hole. Other possibility is the lower intake manifold gaskets or the 90 degree plastic elbow located between the LIM and tensioner (heater bypass).

That doesn't sound good. If you are sure it is coolant and not water leaking out the HVAC drain hose from condensation then I would agree possible heater core. PITA to replace though.

Are you sure the leak is coming out the HAVC box? Could it be a heater core hose from the tensioner to the heater core spraying coolant back to the firewall & draining down the firewall. Usually, a bad heater core will leak to the inside of the cabin!
