I have been looking to buy another metro, but here's the thing the headliner is missing. It's a 91 3cyc automatic 4 door geo metro and the amount of miles is unknown at this point. Would this be a good buy or would you pass on something like this? It hasn't been in any accidents and it has never been smoked in.What is your input on something like this.

Do a compression test on it before you buy it. If the engine is sound, it's worth the money. You can buy a tester at walmart for about $20.

How do you go about conducting a compression test? Is it something that is easy to do, or does it take some skill?

It is really easy on these engines. I did my first one last year and it took me about 30 minutes.
A compression test can tell you if you have a burnt valve, bad headgasket or bad rings.
Read the following link, it is the one I followed the first time:

Make sure you do both the wet and dry test!

Yea, $750 seems quite reasonable, considering today's gas prices. I paid more than that for mine and it had 178,000. I rebuilt the engine at 207,000 and replaced the tranny with a JDM. With 207,000 the rings still had a .015 end gap. The bottom ends seem to hold up real well in these, as long as good oil has been in them the whole life span. The top ends seem to have issues though. A reconditioned head is only $200.00, so if it has a burned valve, it may still be worth buying and fixing. A compression test is still a good idea. Good luck. I hope you find what you want in it.:smokin:

It's funny how many people are looking for another metro. I'm looking for one as well. I just picked up a 32 inch tv from my father in law (the big sob not the thin flat screens ones) Should've seen his face when I showed up to pick it up in the Metro.
Told him not to worry as I had a shoehorn with me! :grinyes: God I love these cars. Wish I'd have gotten a pic to share with you guys.
