neutral safety switch

i was wondering, would the neutral safety switch be a factor in the brake lights not coming on (and the car not being able to shift outta park as i know this is what it does anyway) but if its goin bad would it cause a problem with the brake lights and or flashers?:bloated:

Depends what year Camry you have. Sounds to me like either the stop
light switch or the shift lock control solenoid. But what do I know.....I'm
only a Toyota parts guy:cool:
