Alternator problems!!!

I beleive i have a main crank seal leak and it has caused oil to get on my belts and sling onto my alternator. I was wondering if th oil will cause my alternator to stop working. Thanks

its definately not good for the alternator for oil to be continuoulsy hitting it. i would fix the main crank seal or you could get bigger problems
