Please help im more of an old school mech. so all this new stuff is driving me crazy- i'll take my 82 s10 with smallblock any day!

Your pressure is not good.
Specs is 60/66.
You need around 64-65 lbs for a cold start to sqiuirt injectors.

The regulator is under the upper intake cover.
But fist I would block off a return line and see if full fuel pump pressure comes up 85-95 lbs.
Or check direct fuel pump pressure at line from tank to fuel filter.
Do not run at high full pressure over a few seconds.
If pump is not putting out full pressure of 85 lbs or more it is bad.
Post back what you find on full pressure.
And if you replace the fuel pump only get a Ac Delco or Delphi pump.

Check pressure as MT said. Leakdown to 30psi means it has a leak somewhere. Being that you've had trouble with the pump, I'd say the check valve in the pump is leaking. What brand pump did you use?
