'41 Plymouth....need help.

I just picked up this '41 Business coupe.
As you can see, the hood was partially open. When it was delivered they had closed the hood. Now I can't get it open. It has an inside hood release but I can't get it to budge. Any suggestions?

Also, the car hasn't run in 3 years, any suggestions as to what I should do to try and get it running?. I thought I would see if it will roll over to be sure it isn't froze up. If it does I was going to put in new plugs and spray the carb with cleaner before I tried to fire it. Am I on the right track?

The trunk lid is pretty dented up. It's not rusted out just some big dents. Any idea what a good replacement would cost? I'm wondering it it's worth trying to fix it.

Lastly (for now), is the wheel bolt pattern the same as Fords?
