Hi everyone,
What would be a reasonable price (shipping included) for a 1/24 Tamiya Mazda 787B?
I know that the right price is the one I would most likely pay for it, but I want an objective starting point!
Thanks,
Ioan

70$, very expensive. I`ve only paid 15$ about one year ago :D

Let's see:
15 + 70 = 85/2 = 42,5$
Sounds like a good base! ;)

The original 787B was reissued several years ago, so it's not rare. Tamiya also released a limited edition 787B with Calgograph decals a few years ago, and it was sold for about 2500 yen (about 23USD).

Tamiya also has a tendency to reissue kits on a somewhat cyclical (though unpredictable) basis. If you need it now, well you'll pay what the market bears. But if you can wait until they reissue it again, then you'll find it for a more reasonable price.

I got a second chance offer on eBay for it, as I was outbid.
Would 32€ including shipping be a good price for this kit?
Thanks for the help.

32 incl. would be an unbelivable good price ;-) I was watching some 787's on ebay and not a single one was that cheap. currently there is only one for 60 buy now

I was hesitating because it's an older edition that comes with Tamiya decals, not with the Cartograph decals the newer edition has.
In fact there is another one on eBay for about 40€ + 7€ (cheapest shipping costs from Japan), but it's the same with the Tamiya decals.

OK, one more time, just so no one misses it-
Model kits have NO inherent value. :disappoin Ever.
They are worth ONLY what you can find someone to pay for them. Ever.
If someone paid $XXX for a kit, it DOES NOT mean that that kit is WORTH $XXX- it means only that at one particular moment, one person was willing to pay $XXX. The next person could easily pay less than $XXX- or he could pay a good bit more. If you have this kit and want to sell it, it in no way means that you will get $XXX for it- the last idiot willing to pay that may have already gotten his, and you may be left only with sensible buyers.
If you want a kit for $70, than go ahead and buy it- and enjoy it!! If you really enjoy finding the very best deal (and enjoy bargain hunting more than actually having or building a particular rare kit), then shop around for a year or three- as long as you're enjoying shopping (more than having or building).
But don't stress about whether or not someone else has paid more/less than you- it really doesn't matter, as it's entirely irrelevant. If you want a kit for what it's being offered for, then buy it and enjoy it. Is $10 really worth winding yourself up about? Just buy it already- or don't. But don't stress over it.... :runaround:

I wouldn't pay $70 for a kit which was reissued recently.
And Andy is right, a kit is only worth what somebody is willing to pay for it, whether it's on ebay or elsewhere.

My hobbyshop has one for roughly $42 (current exchane is ZAR7.2 = USD1). It is complete but unboxed. I'm not sure what shipping and insurance from here costs.
