Head Gasket - Removal and Replacement

I am looking at a 95 ford taurus with the 3.8 engine. I understand that these engines have a problem with blowing headgaskets.

How hard/expensive is it to replace a headgasket on one of these cars?

Please be as descriptive as possible so I will have a good idea as to the work that would be involved. I have only replaced one head gasket in my life but, I know I am fully capable of doing it. I just don't want to do something that is going to end up taking a huge amount of time.

Thanks,

Get a chilton manual, or such, to read up on it.. probably cost you at least 1k if someone else did, gotta make sure the heads are still straight also.. also you don't want antifreeze finding it's way into the bottom end, where it'll destroy needed parts, bearings and such..
