Brake Ligth Replacement

How do I replace the brake light. I took the lens off thinking that it would be a simple job before heading out and found that it was going to take more time than what I had. 2002 Dodge Ram Quad Cab 4X4. Any ideas?

open the tailgate and remove the lamp assembly unplug bulb and replace.

Thanks for the reply. I got it, I had more time to spend on it while the kids are in school and the wife is work.

If the bulb seems to go out again in a short time I can tell you what your problem is .. already fought this (among many other things) on my 02 Quad cab... Be sure the contact points inside the housing are completely clean... when mine "went" I simply replaced the bulb... a few days later, I replaced another one ... I thought .. wow, that didn't last long ... well that one lasted a few days and "went" or so I thought... I took it apart and looked a little deeper.... sure enough, the contact was all nasty looking.. cleaned it up and fixed the problem... not even sure if the first bulb was bad...

I need to replace a blinker back there and couldn't see how the assemble comes off, am I missing something really stupid? This is for a 99 Ram
