Power sunroof problems?

i have a 96 grand cherokee limited w/ a power sunroof. it started to malfunction because i had to hit the swith to open the sunroof several times. then it just stopped working. so i took the motor out and bought a new one and it still doesnt work.

Things i know for fact:

1. it is not the used motor i bought. i tested it w/ some speaker wire going straight from the car battery to the motor.

2. it is not the fuse or circuit breaker.

3. i hear a clicking whenever i hit the switch back near where the motor is mounted w/ i have the fuse in, but when i dont have the fuse in i dont hear it; that is how i know my fuse is good.

4. it is an electrical problem b/c the new motor doesnt even work when it is wired and running freely and not mounted.
