airbag question

on 92s were airbags optional, because i really want a new wheel

1992 was the first year airbags were requuired in the USA on all passenger vehicles, 1996 on trucks.

so, i cant replace the wheel with a grant wheel?

You can certainly remove the airbag and steering wheel and install any wheel your heart desires. But in doing so, you will not have an airbag system anymore. You will also need to replace and rewire the horn contact. I think Grant makes a kit fo that as well. Check with your local speed & custom shop and they will be glad to sell you everything you need.

i found a bitchin installation kit on summit but it says its for 69-91
but isn't a 91 pretty much the exact same car as a 92
