I have a 94 s10 with the 4.3. When I make a right turn or more specifically when the weight transfers from the right to left there is a pop sounds coming from somewhere around the tie rods. I orgially thought it had something to do with the tie rods but someone told me its probably just needs new bushing. Has anyone else had this problem and would new bushing fix this problem? Does anyone else know what the problem could be?

I had this problem with my 92 fullsize. I checked the front end out and found nothing wrong, I finally replaced the front shocks and the noise dissapeared.

3 things to check other than John's suggestion...
1 if it's 4wd check the torsion bar mounts in the rear center of truck
2 the steering stops where the knuckle contacts lower control arm, just pud a dab of grese on the knuckle
3 GM has a coil spring insulator kit to address a similiar noise

SO john you thinks its the front shocks. The shocks on my truck are pretty shot so I think i might give it a try and replace them. If that does not work do you know of anything else it might be?

None other than bowtiebandits suggestions. My shocks had at least 100,000 miles on them, and I needed to replace them anyway, and it just happend to fix the popping noise that I had been living with for almost 3 years.

Let us know.
