Hi new here, i have an odd problem. I just bought this 97 aurora, fell in love with it at first sight, loved the power and all of the endless features. A beautiful car. I have only owned it a month and am now getting an odd problem
A few days ago i started up the car and immediately noticed it idolling rough. in fact it was so rough the car was shaking. I pulled out of my drive way and stepped on the gas. The car kinda of chugged forward, with the rpms going up and the spedometer not really moving. i wasnt used to this, the car usually goes and goes quick. it acted as if it was fuel starved.I had no power at all from dead stops, the car is rough on acceleration.
Then two day laters after i filled up on gas (the car has been getting bad gas mileage since the incident), and as the day went by and i drove the car the problem mostly went away. you could still notice it if you tried to floor it but i was content. Just today it has started doing the same thing.
Here is my question, at first i though it was bad gas or water in my gas as it cleared up after i added gas, but this time no cookie. I dont thinkk its the cat converter as there was no syptoms up till the other day, my uncle says he thinks its a bad spark plug as it acts like it is not firing on all cylinders. i dont know much about cars, but what do other people think about this situation, and how much has it costed others to replace spark plugs on this vehicle (i have heard they are in a wierd position)
Thanks in advance!

May have some info that may help. I have a '95 Aurora. Wife came home one day and the engine was spitting, coughing, running really rough. Long story short, 5 of the 8 injectors were clogged and not spraying fuel. Found this out by taking the fuel rail off, lifting each injector with the rail, and tracing back to the injector connector to the correct pins. Jumpered the fuel pump to get pressure, glass jar under each injector and touched the correct pin to open that injector. Took them to a place that initially said they could re-build the injectors, but all they did was test the flow. Told me that I had 5 "junk" injectors. Found that injectors were $98 each at local auto parts stores. Found one place on the internet where injectors were $37 each exchange. I still didn't like the cost, so, if the injectors were going to have to be replaced any way, why not experiment. I took the first injector and turned it upside down and tapped it on the head of a hammer. Hooked it back up to the rail and it dripped a little when firing it. Did this with all the "junk" injectors and got all of them un-clogged. Has run good for a year after that episode until last summer when it stopped running. No fuel pressure and no gas at the fuel rail. I am currently in the process of changing the fuel pump. Gas line had rusted through also and I think I got some particles either from the fuel tank or the fuel line into the injectors.
This may not be what is wrong with your car, but ... food for thought.
