Heated Seats

I have disected the wiring for the heated seats as much as I could yesterday. What I have found is the buttons have 5 wires going to them. 2 of which are always hot. 2 are grounds and 1 will only stay hot only in the amount of time when I press the button, then grounds out. It operates for both driver side and passenger side only staying hot for the short second that I press the buttons. On the driver side, I blew the indication light showing when the seat is suppose to be on. With the disection i found that from the button the wires to threw the center console to the seats. My question is, is their a module that powers and controls the time for both seat modules, or is the individule modules under each seat the only thing that regulates the power and time thet heat stays on??? Oh, check all fuses and they are fine. From the given info. Hopefully some one can help me with my seats and this thread will be able to help other diy's turn the heated seat situation a easy fix, well besides the taking appart the whole inside cabin of a ls.

The seat heater switch goes to the Heated Seat Module, one per seat.

If you have a first gen LS, there is a fuse in the Battery Junction Box, 15-amp fuse F4.11 that provides constant power to the Heated Seat Modules. There's also fuse F2.05, a 5-amp fuse in the Central Junction Box that provides power to the Heated Seat Module. Power to the illumination and seat heater switches is via fuse F2.16, a 5-amp fuse also in the Central Junction Box.

I have done more disection. I is the lower heating element. the connection is not established. I guess in the 2000's, the design of the seats makes it easy for just enough weight to disconnect the wiring from the actual element it self. I've checked fuses, wires powering on and off, and faulty wires under the seat and other parts of the car. so it must be the bottom element because everything else is functioning properly. NOW DOES ANYONE KNOW A SITE WHERE I CAN GET SOME INEXPENSIVE ELEMENTS????????

Can't you just solder the wire back on to the element? Seems cheaper than replacing the element, especially since you know where the break is. Let me know. It sounds like mine has the same problem. I haven't really done much investigation, but all the switches, relays and fuses are functioning properly.
