Im working on the engine of my Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR and I cant find a part. I remember seeing it when I was seperating all the pieces to paint, but I cant find it now. What em I supposed to do?

Usually if you go do something else, you'll find the part upon your return to the project; weird but that's how it goes for me!

I'll ask my cat if she took it, because she takes EVERYTHING i don't hide from her.

Get an orange carpet with a short pile( the industrial cord type) whatever colour kit your working with seems to show up if you drop a part, unless its an orange kit of course but luckily there are not too many of them. The alternative is to scratch build the part or contact the kits importer direct, they will sometimes carry spares or can get one for you, I have done this with a couple of kits I bought in my country

I don't understand how people lose kit parts?
I keep all my parts in a organiser tray with compartments, have a floor protector under my table, and make sure to only have the parts I am working on out on my workbench.

Thats what pisses me off, I had them all organized when I seperated all the pieces to spray paint. It was in my kit box, then when I went to get it I couldnt find it any where. Maybe it will show up, it couldnt have gone far.

Blame the cats! Even though I keep all of kit pieces in a box I sometimes forget to put the lid back on. It's not unkown to come back and find that my cat has picked up one of the bits (most often chrome) and carried it off somewhere.

At least they haven't eaten any pieces yet

Haha! Same here...wheels/tires are the favorite toys of my pair of felines. The last disaster was when I was building my Alfa BAT 5, and I suddenly was missing a wheelback/tire. This was after taking the unfinished kit/parts to a club meeting, bringing it home and leaving the works on a table. I ended up getting replacement parts, but I missed getting the model built for a show (wouldn't have made it anyway, but irritating nonetheless).

I even arranged the caster to send the replacement to the vendor who gave me the parts I needed from an unbuilt one he had.

Months later, I'm picking up a pile of newspapers going out for recycling, and there was the wheel/tire...had been a great toy for the cat until it got lodged under the pile of papers. Cats will play with the damndest things! A big, empty box is a favorite.
