my sisters got an 03 cavi. Her BF fucked up the e-brake. it was supposible clicked up all the way and then pulled farther a little bit so that it was about to be released ( pushing in the button). once he pushed in the button it made a plastic braking noice or a hard click. now the ebrake doesnt click up and has to be pulled to the driver side a little bit so that it almost sets down all the way. i tried pulling out the who center council but the e-brake and the anto tranny shifter was in the way. i think that i could get by the shifter by rotating the whole council 90 degrees, possibly slipping it outa the whole.. but i cant get in there to look at the e-brake. can anyone help me with what i should do and what the prob might be????

Well i don't see anything plastic that should have broke on the e-brake handle. Its pretty much all metal interlocking component. There is a u-shaped clip in the front of the shift knob if you pry that out the shift knob will come off and the console will slide right out.

im pretty sure that i could get that off i just need to know how to get it completely off cuz i cant get it past the e-brake.
The button on the ebrake actually sticks out and doesnt go in anymore like there is a spring pushing it out and it cant go back in.

The console is plastic, you can bend it in places. Is your e-brake all the way down?

I've stripped 5 cars completely clean and never had an issue. Thats mine above currently.
