Windshield Wiper Fluid Pump

My windshield wiper fluid pump is working only half of the time...On and off. One minute it works fine, the next...Nothing. Does this sounds like a turn signal switch going bad or the pump itself? I'm having no other issues with my multifunction switch, just the windshield wiper fluid at this time. Thanks.

The best thing to do Paul is split the baby to be sure. Check the 12 volts at the washer pump input at the pump electrical connector with a multimeter or test light. If you see it disappear or missing then back track to the MFS. If there at all times when washer switch is activated (voltage good) and nothing comes out of the pump then most likely the pump. I use a needle pushed into the respective wire and then connect the meter red lead since you have to observe operation, especially on intermittent problems. For ground use any chassis ground (black lead).

Ok, it's not the pump itself or the MFS but a breach in the wiring. It's been WAY to cold lately to check into it further but will get on it when the weather breaks. I'm going to try to send some of this 0 degree weather down your way Bob. :evillol:

Hi Paul. Sounds like progress. Can't blame you due to the weather. I've got a short sleeve shirt on. :uhoh: Cold in the mornings but warms up nice. Let us know how it turns out.
