anyone have this same problem? or any "fix" tips?

Also, while we are looking at this, anyone think something might be wrong with my boost gauge... its not reading 0 and the car is just sitting their.... maybe thats why my boost estments are always high on dsmlink...

The bottom line of the gauge is 0. Your fine as long as its close.

Can you push the pod and make the gap go away? Maybe you could put a screw in it that goes into the metal on the pillar and that would hold it tight.

i can push it so the gap goes away, and the screw thats in in goes into the metal... and doenst hold tight at all! well, not the part i'm having trouble with anyway

Maybe try putting another screw in it or something.

When I put my 3 gauge pod in I glued it to the factory a pillar panel and cut holes in the stock one for the wires. It looks like you took the stock one out.

yeah because with my first piller i had to take the stock one out, it was AWESOME so much better then the Autometer, only trouble is it was stolen along with the gauges, and i dont remeber what brand the piller was, or even where i got it.... but anyway.... thats the story. i cant get another screw in their, i have drilled several holes, and spent hours trying, its just no going to happen.

Maybe try and find a stock piece and glue your pod to it. The stock piece is held real tight with those 2 clips and if the pod was glued to the stock one it should be fine.

I dont know what else you can do

Mine actually sits the same way. I only have one screw up at the top holding it onto the pillar. If I push it to the window, it closes nicely. Always say I'm going to get another screw in there but never have yet.

What works decently well is this little black trim I found at ACE hardware. It comes in rolls and is about 1/2" wide with a little lip, kinda like a 'T'. I stick the part facing down in the crack, so then the cross of the T is up against the pillar and the window. Then take a little crazy glue and glue it to the pillar. If you don't glue it, it will fall off while driving. Could be an hour, couple be a month. But it always does.

I used to have that same problem. But I took a 3/4" O.D. coolant hose, cut it to about 7 inches long or so, and tucked it against the dash and the bottom of the gauge pod. it works good, no gap anymore.

edit: i turned it around so you could see the writing on the hose. when I have the writing face down, it looks like some stock trim piece or something, you cant even tell its a hose lol

This reminds me that I had that done before also, but with half of a clothes pin. lol. It was tucked farther down though. Had to take it out when I got new gauges and forgot all about it.

The only thing holding mine up is some 3m moulding tape. And yes, I also have a piece of foam wedged between the dash and a pillar.

Someone should make a A-pillar replacement piece with molded in 3 pod.

i have this also, in an attempt to fix the gap, im just tired of trying other stuff and seeing NO results! which is the reason for this thread... i cant do the 3m tape here in texas, it melts during the summer, i cant get another screw in because after hours of fighting with the damn thing i cant get the screw to go in the same hole i drilled, the windshild in in the way! and i dont wanna take out the window to get rid of the gap :screwy: let me see if i can find my stock one somewhere... maybe some supper glue... i dont know, any other tips?

You could always take and drill small holes in the A-pillar near the clip holes and run the wires through the skeleton of the car up to the guages that way they aren't clustered behind the pod and not allowing for proper fitment...anyone tried this yet ?

even with that being done, the piller would still have the gap, its not because of the wires at all. i dont know what the deal is... but i dont like it one bit...

Status update: Still UNRESOLVED

Ya drilling through the chassis there won't fix anything. The pillars themselves just don't hold up like the stock does. You just need another screw, clip, or wedge something by the dash like shown above.

yea just wedge something between the bottom of the pillar and the dash...fixed my problem
