So when I open my driver side door there is like 2 popping sounds coming from one of the "hinges" which holds the door to the frame of the car. Its looks a little rusted. Is there a specific name for this part which I can search for or talk to a mechanic about? Thanks guys

I would first try spraying the hinges with a penetrating oil. If you take it to anyone, just describe it as a noise near the door hinges. There is only one thing it could be; nothing about the fender, door panel, or foot well could be making that noise, its something about the hinge.

Traditionally the door mechanisims are lubed with a white lithium grease. Lithium grease is resistant to moisture and perfect for hinges. One place I worked we applied it with a small brush that came with the can, but I haven't seen that in years. The spray products are on the thin side, but they work.

I would hit it with some carb cleaner and get in there with a wire brush if the rust is that bad. See if you can find the grease in a tube, it will stay on the parts longer and gives better protection than the spray products.
