Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Street Competizione

Hello all!

I have been a member here for a long time now, but never posted before. I was very intimidated from all the glorious builds you guys are putting out of your shops.

Built this model as a tribute to 60 red years. Finished it in November, but sadly my camera got broken (CCD chip) so I had to borrow one from a friend.

About the model: It's a Revell kit which I bought to get the wire wheels for my diecast 250 GTO. Then I started to build it OOB. I really don't like the shape of a street Daytona and wanted to build a Competizione version for the street.

Luckily a forum buddy contacted me and we made a swap. He gave me the front end of the Italeri Daytona Competizione. I was so happy.

I had to find new wheels for this kit so I used wheels from a Revell 300E AMG kit and made dishes from a plastic tube. Had to buy about 10 feet (3 meters) and used only about an inch (2,5 cm).:loser:
Added a lot of addons like: MFH and Crazy modeler emblems and wires + tubing, Detail master wiper, Mr. Model mesh for the front air vents...

I'm not gonna bore you to death with all the details.

The pictures

First the reference: Series 1 Daytona Competizione

Just some pictures to get you up to speed as the interior is not well shown in the finished pictures.

Competizione front end, I widened the rear wheel arches, engine and underside.

Interior:

It's painted with TS08 and clear coated with Zero 2K clear. Window trim is BMF.

I scratchbuilt some parts for the engine.

And some with the black backround.

Biggest issue are the light lenses, they are too thick. Well some other fitment issues are present as well. :iceslolan

I hope you don't mind all the pictures. I must thank to all of you for the skills you shared and still share of course on this forum.

My English is a little rusty, so I do apologize for any errors in the text.

Hope you like it.:)

Great job my neighbour, considering the kit, outstanding job. Just I'm a classic maniac and don't like those huge wheels but I guess you'll find lot of people that love it here :D

Thank you guys. You are all so kind.

As soon as I get my camera back from service, I'll try to regulary post progress of my builds.

godfather23: It is a Revell kit (prepacked Italeri) with the Italeri Competizione front end. (Italeri used to make a Competezione version of this car as you may already know).
Whats next? Well I have 5 WIP's but I have to finish a Ford 32' Roadster for a local forum contest. Next will be a Fiat 131 Abarth also in a street version.

stryfe101: Do you have a link to a thread where I could see your progress?
Really interested, in godfather23's as well.

Looks superb, I don't know why you were intimidated, the paintwork is fabulous as are the engine details. You may be interested to know that Fujimi Campagnolo Ferrari style wheels are available from HLJ: http://www.hlj.com/product/FUJ19292, they are pretty good too.
