I have access to all of the trade ins at a local car dealership and have taken many in the past from them. The latest I am not sure about and figured I would ask those who new. It is a 1995 540i gold with 113,000 miles. I love the color and cosmetically it is perfect in and out. It is seamingly loaded (sunroof, heatedseats, yada yada) It is currently not running though. It turns over fine and seams as though the timing belt may have broken due to it not sounding as though it has any compression. Just the bottom end is turning. I have noticed that the retail is $19,800 and even the trade in is $12,800. I can get it for $9,200 which I think is great. Please help. Thanks,
Jared

it's all your decision but i think the '95s look old... they look like 80s cars
the current generations are sweet though... i think they started in '97

I think they had a new engine that year so it had not had the kinks worked out of it. With the frequent engine changes, newer is not always better. Find out when that engine model was introduced. Go for it if it is in its third or fourth year.

To my recollection there was a problem on the actual engine metal make up. I and seem to recall an article or notice in Roundel magazine that said BMW would replace the engine if still under warranty. With 113k miles you are SOL on the warranty.
