My Camaro Blew Up

Well, Friday night as I was driving to the local 1/8mile track I suddenly lost power to the wheels and noticed a whole lot of smoke pouring from the rear of the car and hood. I pulled over pulled the hood latch and went to open the hood and realized "oh shit! My car is on fire!". Well in hindsight bias I realized that maybe after we dropped a crate 350 into a 3rd gen. Camaro I maybe should have had a fire extinguisher in the car. Me and my dad tried to come to a conclusion as to why it went up in flames and we came up with 1. Blown transmission lines. 2. Air Conditioning (passenger side of car is what was on fire first) 3. Starter. Well It absolutely sucked to watch a $15,000 restoration burn to the ground. Now I just don't know whether a 69 or 2002 Camaro will fill the void. :headshake

Wow, not what you like to hear... yeah philly, a fire extinguisher is always a good thing to have in the back... a couple years back my car started on fire... the starter shorted itself out and the blue flames were pourin out... thank god it was at home at the time

Glad your ok. I hope you had insurance, and good luck finding something else as sweet as that.

Why not both?
Here's a 73/93 Camaro

Here's an '02 Camaro, redesigned as a 69 with all new body panels:

Here's a '69 Camaro with a 2002 Trans Am interior:

That would be one hell of a fun project to do. Sorry about your loss, but look at it as an opportunity.

Wow... That is a freakin shame... That thing was nice too... :(
This actually just made me think that I should be putting an extinguisher in my car after everything I have changed and built on it. My luck I would watch 15k go down in a flame of glory too... :uhoh:
