My Service Engine Soon Light goes on from time to time but never during the first ride of a day when the engine is still cold. It always goes on when the engine is already warm.
But then the light never stays simply on. It seems to have of life of its own. Sometimes is goes on and out for a couple of minutes 3 to 9 times a ride. Sometimes it just stays on for about 20 minutes, goes out for about 5 minutes and comes back to start all over again. But it never really stays on for the whole time of driving!
I already got replaced the cam sensor and the ECM. And yes, the little magnet is still in its place.
Does anybody have a clue?

Having read previous posts on this, the magnet IS always the culprit and the hardest/costliest to change. A new cam sensor will not fix code 41 in most cases.
Having had a '91 Regal for 4 years and a '92 PAU and done nothing regarding same it still hums along. The only disadvantage is a 3 MPG loss, which the expense of installing a magnet would not be justified in my opinion.
The simplest solution to the "check engine light" is a piece of black tape...presto no mo annoying light heh. Regular scans should alleviate any fears of other major malfunctions.
I will wait till the day it craps out lol.

Code 41 can also be the crank position sensor (CKPS)! :uhoh:

The CPS may be both our problems (I have a similar recent post) , I hadn't thought about the fact there's no code just for the CPS.
