Crap... Death Wobble.

Well, my '94s death wobble is back.

The first time, I replaced the tires and all was good. About 9 months later, going down the road about 40mph, the old familiar lub-lub-lub-lub-lub is back.

I'm going to throw some air into the tires, they look a bit low.

Hopefully this is a one time thing... Which steering components tend to bite the dust first? Track bar? The Jeep has about 160k miles...

Track bar first. A steering stablizer might help, but no sustitute for repair of worn ball joints or tie-rod ends.

Do you have "big" tires?

No... right now it is all stock (well, the 225 'option' tires).

Oh, and I replaced the stabilizer around a month before the new tires.

Yeah...air them tires up a bit, fill with gas to make it sit flatter and then try it.

It might need an alignment also.

Alright... I'll try that first one.

The joints on the Track bar are pretty worn. (I guess 15 years will do that :-)

If air or an alignment don't work, I'll replace those.

Thanks for the info! I'll see what I can do.

Also don't forget to check that the wheels are balanced as you might have hit a pot hole and thrown a weight causing one of the front wheels to be out of balance.

Well, It's been a week and no DW. I simply aired up the tires. :-)

Quirky things, these Cherokees...
