so i'm in harrisonburg, va (mustang heaven) on a ski trip with my two brothers. it's sort of wet outside and cold as hell. i drive an rsx-s, fully stock save for an injen air intake. i've been racing all kinds of cars for as long as i've been driving. anyhow. i'm at a light and a black crx pulls up next to me. i look over at him and he revs at me like he's going to blow his engine. the crx had no badges on it, but as far as i could see it was a later model with a big exhaust on it. we take off from the line and it's not even close. i gain about 2 car lengths on him immediately. next thing i know there is another car on my ass. it's 94ish 240sx with an exhaust and a body kit. the guys behind me sticking to my bumper, so i slow down to let him get next to me. we're doing about 30. he comes up next to me and points straight ahead. i drop it into second and take off. he did a little better then the crx, but in the end i beat him by about a car length. flipped my hazard lights on and turned into the chinese joint. he drives away and turns his hazard lights on as well. i've heard so much about the 240sx's, i used to own one and wasn't impressed by it at all. why so much hype about them?

The early 90's 240sx was pretty weak, the next gen was a little quicker however.

Im especially glad you killed the crx. They always rev at me, even when im driving with like five people in my car. I think the 240zx has good potential, you just have to use the right equptment. It doesn't suprise me that the RSX won though, they are pretty fast. The race i would love to see is an RSX-S vs the top line Prelude. That is a pretty evenly matched race. Both are pretty fast IMO. Ever race any???

i disagree. i have walked several newer ludes, and i think an RSX S would whoop my ass

The reason is because the potential of the SR20DET swap which is very common with them. In terms of the KA24E or KA24DE, they are pretty bad in naturally aspirated form(it was originally designed for truck). Also, the aftermarket for them is pretty lacking.

yes actually i have raced a late model (2000?) type sh prelude that was cosmetically "hooked up" with an exhaust and probably way more from what i could see. i beat him by about a car length here in richmond va. i actually raced a regular lude again maybe a 2000 that wasn't a type sh that was a much tougher race. i barely beat him off the line, then sorta blew him away from circa 35mph. i think the ludes are beautiful cars on the outside thou.

So most likely the type "S" has a better record? I agree, i love the way preludes look and almost bought one. Isn't there a V6 lude though???

I don't believe so. Just the s2000 for cars.

the s2000 is a 4 cylinder, never a 6.

Yea, but considering that there are so many last gens out there, they prob felt like people were getting tired of em. I wonder how the new ones will look when people start putting ground effects on them.
