I really haven't looked into this much yet. When driving above 55 and I slowly apply the throttle the truck will stutter/buck. Enough to shake the cup holder.(don't wanna spill drink) To get by it, I have to apply the throttle enough to get it to down shift and then it's ok. The check engine lite has never come on nor any of the idiot lights.
I have changed out the fuel/air filters and plugs about 30K ago. I have also changed the fuel pressure regulator due to that other problem.
Vaccuum leak, fuel pump???
Would OBD kick anything out when this happens? I can get a reader.
Thanks,
Jake

if you are to troubleshoot this problem you must have test equiptment to find what is going wrong here as your problem can be caused by many issues. usually this problem is created when maintenence of vehicle is lacking. plugs, fuel pressures ,vacuum lines, plug wires wiring/corroison grounds bad gas old gas keep tank less than 1/4 full.....etc.....i would check fuel pump for proper operation especially if fuel filter was replaced after 55,000mi.......good luck!

If i were you next time the dealer does work for you, and they say bla bla bla will fix the problem, make them put it in writing , that if it don't fix it you get money back......also bad injector will throw code . also they replaced all injectors for 290.oo sounds too low in cost . if i were to guess for a 30-50.oo cost the crank position sensor will do this as it begins to fail. the cost of a new injector is 100.oo so they cleaned your injectors for 290.oo ! you have been robbed.......

yes, they cleaned my injectors and something else, but i forgot. i was told by a guy that changed my oil that the problem might be some sensor in the transmission. i feel like it is in the transmission since the truck acts like it doesnt want to shift. so i changed my transmission fluid, but that didnt help my problem.

you need a professional that is trusted in your community to give your vehicle a good inspection as to what needs repair. i have 2000 5.3 sil. the engine and transmission are working perfectly since day one and at your mileage things like fuel filters, plugs platinum, plug wires resistance damage at end connector , plug coil wires loose corroded this is were i would start but you [or the person you hire] must know what to look for, and what is good/bad. dealerships are thieves because they will not stand behind their work and will not troubleshoot to defective componet test defective componet to certify the the part is defective. in other words part changers not technicians. as i said earlier crank position sensor will cause the problem you have as i helped my sons friend with a simular problem on jeep cherokee.this had no codes and after a period of missing/ studdering finally would just stop running. then start and work for 3days and die again no one could fix but i found the problem no dtc set. when the engine studders look at tach if it jumps it's this part. resistance should be in 2k-10kohm range if very high or open n/g.........

my 02 with a 5.3 was bucking around 45mph and 1500 rpm. the throttle body didn't look too dirty, but I sprayed it down with cleaner anyway and it cured mine.

clean throttle body, if you have a distributor, remove it and clean it, there is a vent or should be one. it is to get the moisture out. if it gets clogged you will have the shutter.
the dealer will not trouble shoot this problem, since most of the time you must drive the truck to get it warm to make the problem happen. I had to basally kid nap the service guy so he could find out yes the problem is there. but the computer did not show a fault so thay could not do any thing. IE we can not find it in 3 seconds and the computer does not say we can make a fast buck. were not going to tech it.

the 5.3 s have a problem with the cranksensor failing twice as much as the 8.1 s but the 6.0 does not share the cranksensor problems . the cranksensor can cause a miss as the ecm does regain the signal from it but if it looses the signal it will shut the motor off .
