Hey guys, it's been a while since I've posted anything. The cars been good and really haven't focused much attention to it. I guess my GP was feeling neglected because she decided to flash the good ol ABS system, Trac control system messages at me today. My 98 GTP had reoccurring problems with this that I dealt with several times. This is the first time I've had any problem like this on my 04. Anyway, cutting to the chase, what sort of things may be different from the different cars? Is there more to this one than the speed sensors in the wheel hubs? Could it be something more simple that it's trying to tell me? This car seems to want to tell me every little thing on the DIC...
I was really hoping that I had traded away my trac control probs :banghead:

The problems are the same with the two models. I suspect you have a bad sensor on one of the wheels and that will involve changing the hub and bearng. I would get it scanned just to save some labor as the scan will indicate which side is bad. It could point to other issues but I doubt it.

That's what I figured, but I thought I'd check. I went through 4 hubs on my last GP. I was hoping that wouldn't be an issue on the new one.

As with any ABS/traction control system problems regardless of GP generations or models from '97 and up it is best to get it scanned with an ABS capable scan tool as pointed out. Preferably a GM Tech II.
Ever since GM changed to the Bosch 5.3 ABS system and redesigned/relocated major components, the electronic brake and traction control (EBTCM) is now a common cause in addition to the wheel sensors.
