5th gen headlights wont work

I have a 95 Nissan Maxima and today a weird problem sprung up: the headlights dont work.
The parking lights work, and the high-beams work in both parking light/headlight stalk position but the regular headlights just dont work.
I tried swapping the headlight relay with another one (from rear defrost since its the same) and same thing, no headlights. Both fuses are fine too.
This is really strange. Any ideas before we bring it to the (dreaded d-word) dealer?
So far the only advice I have gotten is people telling me that when they got new ricey bulbs this could happen, but this just happened randomly and we are using stock bulbs. Thanks!

you got 5th gen lights on your 4th gen?
