Aftermarket headlights question

This is my first post here, but I've used this forum for a while...and now i have a question
I've owned my silverado 1500 for about two months, and I love it, but I want some aftermarket headlights. I found these on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160194456481, but I'm not sure about the quality of them...any know anything about these or the seller? I did a forum search but couldn't find anything. And does anyone think these would look good on my truck (it's dark blue, completely stock).
If these are no good, where is the best place to get headlights? I've looked at Jegs and Summitt racing already.
The reason I don't want to jump and buy some $300 headlights is that I'm in high school and can't afford headlights that expensive when I'm also saving up for an amp and sub and maybe exhaust.
Here's a pic:

I purchase everything for my truck on ebay. The great thing is if you dont like it, just resell it. You may take a small loss but if it works out and you like the lights it was worth the gamble. Good luck and post some pics if you get the lights.

Although I cant speak from personal experience, only what I have heard from others... If you live in an area where headlights arent totally needed i.e. an area with a lot of streetlights. They are ok (look cool), but if its dark, although they work, not the best.

Are they brighter than the originals...or are the bulbs replaceable, since I have some money left over?? Most of the town has streetlights...but there are some rural areas that I'd need some lighting

From what I have heard they are brighter but the light just falls off sooner. I believe they are sealed beams... but dont take my word on that... You could go with and HID conversion kit if your looking for stylish and better than stock. But if your just looking for better light. Silverstar or Silverstar Ultras', you cant go wrong

I have Silverstar Ultras...they are well worth the $$$

One quick note... Remember with most things, "you get what you pay for"... The Buy it now price is just under 90 bucks. For the entire assembly and lights. a quality HID conversion will run you a couple hundred a side, and silverstars will run you nearly 90 bucks just for the high and low beams.

I'm more looking for appearance than better lighting, but if i could, I would upgrade the lights too. I've heard HID gets really hot, but I might look into Silverstar. This may sound dumb, but are the bulbs in these replaceable or is the lighting only coming from the halo?

X2 on the silverstars. I have them high & low, they produce much brighter and whiter light.

Watch out on those sylvania silverstar, I run sylvania cool blues, on 6 light mod, Bright as $hit. But within...I'd say 2 months both of my fog lights burnt out... same bulb for fog and hi beam, Im still debating if I wanna spend the money to replace them.

I started with the original Silverstars several years ago and then went to the Ultras when they came out and have never had a problem. Maybe in a fog light application there is to much vibration. Or, maybe they could be having a problem with getting wet in rainy conditions.

I wouldnt get those lights. Projectors look rice to me. From experience i know that aftermarket projectors suck. They dont put out any light, fit crappy and dont aim for shit. Finding the bulbs for them is difficult as well. Plus i dont think the cheap black housing would look good on your blue truck. Black headlights belong on black trucks IMO. On my 01 i used to have TYC projectors like these and they were definately not worth the money i paid for them even tho TYC is a reputable brand.

I then switched to some TYC clear headlights and did the HID conversion and they were much brighter and looked better. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/99-02-TYC-CHEVY-SILVERADO-EURO-CLEAR-RACING-HEADLIGHTS_W0QQitemZ120206872352QQihZ002QQcategory Z33710QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Thanks for the help, I've decided not to buy them, I'm either going for a bazooka subwoofer (if it'll fit behind the seat), a bed mat, or to start saving on an exhaust system.

Good choice on not buying them. There are some clear corners you can get that look just like the factory ones except have a white reflector instead of amber and they match good with the factory headlights.
Bazooka is an okay sub but if i was you i would just get a 10" sub with a small amp and put it behind your seat. If you want more bass you could always go with 2 10s or even 2 12s. I'm looking around ebay right now for myself since i just got a new reg cab truck and there are lots of really good deals on there.
And as for exhaust i just had a Hooker Aerochamber muffler dumped before the axle put on today. Has a nice deep sound and didnt cost me very much (85$ for the muffler and 60$ to have it welded on and dumped) I spent over $800 on dual exhaust for my old truck and it seemed like a big waste of money. Most straight through design mufflers (hooker, magnaflow, borla, corsa) have the best performance with a good sound.

Sure, but at least it's problem resolved, and I'm glad I didn't go for it, thanks everyone.
