Hello good people. I have a small problem that I was hoping you folks with much greater knowledge than I could help me with.

My daughter has a 2004 Aveo that for some strange reason other then the fact that I'm stupid, cannot change a burnt out headlamp.

I've pushed, pulled, turned counter clockwise and I still cannot figure out how to disconnect this lamp from the housing. I do not want to put too much pressure on it in fear of breaking it. It is plastic and the air temp is about 25° here.

If anyone out there knows the combination (for lack of a better word) to solve my little brain dead period, please let me know.

Thank you.

If it's got the threaded plastic collar/nut, once you un-thread that, the lamp should pull out of the headlamp assy with some resistance, due to the O-ring seal on lamp holder. You're right though. Don't mess with it in the cold.

It shouldn't be a problem changing it in the cold.
The piece should be on the back of the head lamps. The whole lamp does not come out just the bulb. PS, your not stupid.

^this shows how to remove the headlight. once u remove the headlight, disconnect it, and remove the rubber grommet that encases the headlight insertion point. then u will see a thin metal wire, push in on it and then up and out (gently). next u remove old bulb, and insert new bulb (w/out touchin the glass on the bulb of course) and reverse those steps to reinstall.
