Check engine light...you tell me

not sure which sensor it is but everyonce in awhile I get the light turned on during high rev situations ,but not all the time. tends to happen more when she's cold. Anyone,,,,Anyone ....Bueler?

btw 88 base civic. or does someone have the blinky light codes?

Pull back the carpet on the passanger footwell and count the number of blinks on the ecu. Once i know the number i can tell you the code.

what you got for sound?

Two 12.2s vipers, one viper d2500.1, a SVR 80 bat. In dbdrag, im in street 1-2 and hit a 149.2. That is with a street tuned port at 32 hz. I'm designing a box that peaks at 63, the Resonat frq of my car.

it's nice to see more audio people popping up.

be sure when you count the flashes for the error code that you wait to see if another series of blinks also happenes. it's possible to have mulitple codes. sometimes you could have codes stored in there from the previous owner as well. my best suggestion is to count the flashes. if you do get more than 1 error code, then reset the ecu, and start the car again looking to see if & what the new code(s) are.

Yea, well when I still had a system, and when it was still just one 12" i was up there with you ami, i think i only got 139 though with one 12". Audio head, did you mean you find that odd about her system in a good or bad way? I really don't see anything wrong with that, but it also depends on what sub and amp she is running. I'm still proud of my lil 120 Watt amp that i used to have. Lil bastard could hit.

Well not really bad just ...well I had one 12 alpine type-R and hit close to the 160 range. Course I was runnin 900 watts to it.:D

Well no wonder you hit up to 160, with 9k watts runnin to it. 160 if F*ning loud too. Have you ever had your head right in front of a sub that its about 168? makes you head bang.

Yea, I hit 140.8 with 2 12's and a 120 watt amp. I don't find that bad at all. In fact i brag about it anytime i can :D.

Also I think the thinner air up here might have something to do with it or maybe not......hmmm I wonder. I'm gonna check on that.

LMAO. not odd at all. the amp is a MTX thunder 500d. 500 watts rms i do believe. it probably actually does better than 140 since i got a new head unit. to be honest....my car isn't sound, speed, or show. i just like it to have a little of it all.

yea, i was gonna try for that, but got sucked into the speed part. But recently i'm slowly wanting to turn back to the show, or sound part, so i can get some chics :smoka: hard to get any girls when you don't have a rear interior, or back seat. One day when i get money(damn, im always sayin that) i will have another 4g civic/crx for a show car.

jdm front
jdm rear seats head rests
jdm sideskirts
jdm rear bumper

Audiohead, i calling a BS here. A 160 in a higher elv. Yea right has to be outlaw mic in the port. If thats the case, try a 167 in the port not outlaw style.

nope always been on the list. actually all those things used to just be under front clip +. now that only jdm is left it's been broken up.

No offense but i don't car how old the meter is, 160 is hella hard to hit with two subs. Want to know what the street1-2 record is right now? How about 157.8 db with two shockers and a 4kw that puts out 4000 watts. and this was all done in a crx that was on a meter every other day tuning and changing stuff around.look here

can't get on that link for some reason. But if I remember right I think it's up close to 180 now. If I can get a digi cam within the next couple days I'll show ya some back up. Ya know a lot of spl stuff isn't power really (Not ruling it out) but more location of woofers and Knowing your car for placement.

Sorry turb, im on his side. Ive seen a CRX hit about a 168 if i remember correctly, it was a port reading though, so that helped out. and how old the meter is, does matter, if it hasn't been calibrated or not. You can get more DB out of just folding down your seat, along with where you have your subs facing. All a matter of knowledge. Not saying your an idiot. Just the little things help.

Isnt 180 close to the bodies tolerance level?

A 150 takes time to acheive and if i rember right, this year at SBN in Daytonya, street a cars were doing a 149.8. Finals did a 158 #. Now in order to get a 180, which is impossible right since the EXTREME cars can only do a 175, (TEAM bs) saw it personally. a 180 with two 12's is near impossible.:finger4:

No, that comment is directed to people in general that say that their car does a high # and it ends up being outlaw style. Outlaw lets more air travel there by making the the entire world their port pretty much. A true reading of a car comes when the car is compleltly sealed, not letting an interefernce on the readings. Put most of the cars that do a 170 outlaw # and close the doors, does a high 140, still respectable, but not anywere near the earblowing 172

amen to that. anyone can grab a reading out the port. it's how you bounce that sound wave that matter most.

claiming a spl from the port is the same to me as claiming hp from the flywheel.....:bloated:

Yea, i do disagree with the port thing. Like I said, all mine have been from the dash, and whole car is sealed up. Never had anyone hold the windows or anything, I would rather get a reading from how I actually listen to it, or how the car is when i listen to it. Yea, i think a 140 is respectable, not the greatest...well also depends what your runnin too. I'm still happy with my 140.8:D
