Well, if you have purchased it already then I hope it was certified pre-owned. If have still have not bought it then, have you ever owned a foreign car before? Have you looked at the TL competitors?

Look around, go with a 05 instead or check out the competition & compare.

Good luck.

I have an 2000 Acura 3.2 TL which I bought brand new. I'm pretty well satisfied with the performance of the car. The VETC engine has a lot of pep. Of course the car was loaded with extras except I did not want the Navigator (GPS) installed, which saved me two grand. Acura as in other Honda cars have "interference" engine which require the changing of the timing belt at around 90K miles. This requirement also suggest to replace the water pump and the outer belts for a total cost of $1100.00. If neglected and the timing belt breaks, for sure the engine is kaput. Of course, the car could go for a couple of thousand miles without any problem but it's a chance you have to take.

So take heed. If the car has this amount miles, make sure to check it out from the buyer or dealer if this maintenance requirement had been done.

Why? What's wrong with buyign from a private seller?

Why, what's wrong with the 04?

The '04 is basically the same car. I would suggest a private seller. Certified preowned is a ripoff unless you don't have enough cash to fix the car if something goes wrong. I like to pay close attention to the condition of the interior. If it is stained and filthy then you have to question the way the owner has treated the car. Dealers can hide these things from you with a good detailing.

Get the 6 speed manual. It also has upgraded brakes. I have had my eyes on a Black '06 6sp TL. Problem is the dealer wants entirely too much for it.
