94 jgc 4.0....connector runs in harness with starter wires and branches out under distributer and oil filter. Its black an blue and I have no idea where it goes. im thinking it has something to do with a sensor causing my o/d off light to come on about 1 min after starting jeep. tranny shop screwed me..long story but if anyone get a sec to peek under their hood I greatly appreciate it. thanks all.

Here's what my '94 GC looks like:
There's a 3-wire plug (wires are black, blue, and white) coming off of a set of wires right near the oil filter. This plugs into a 6" long wire that comes out of the bottom of the distributor cap.
There's also a 2-wire plug (wires are [black & green], and [black & white] striped). This one comes right off the cable bundle from the starter (it's a bit higher up - just past the oil filter & cap). This plugs into the front of a box (it's about 3" square) connected to the engine in front of the distributor cap. The #1 wire from the distributor cap plugs into this box on the back side and the 2-wire plug connects on the front side.
Let me know if you need more info and I can send photos.

I think it's for the oil level sensor in the side of the oil pan.You probably do not have that sensor so the connector is just there and unplugged. It's not a problem, they only had the sensor on 93s and I think some 94s and it caused a lot of problems so they eliminated it.
