problem with pickup starting, not alt., starter, or battery

I am trying to find out how to fix a problem for three trucks that all have the same problem. When you turn they key the truck has power, there is no clicking, and wont start. Its not the starter, altentaor, battery, or clutch swith. I have seen where some has fixed this with a switch from the battery to the starter, and this works. I was wondering if anyone knew what actually caused the problem, and if there is a way to fix it with out the putting in a pushbutton swith

:rofl: Sorry, not laughing at you. This is a common problem on 80's Toys. I've had it on an 83 4WD and an 84 2WD myself. It's just easier to wire in a PB switch for me. The problem is in the IGN sw or the wiring from it to the starter, I just never bothered to trouble shoot. Just think of the PB switch as an anti-theft device. :grinyes:
