subs

I've heard that the new solo baric 12's hit pretty hard and I've had good luck with koiiler amps my latest amp was a 1000 watt and my bf has 2 12" impp's which are pretty good too....If anyone knows what kind of subs would sound great in a 240 please let me know..I'm tired of my 2 10" . :rolleyes:

the solobarics are good subs, might wanna look into JL and RockfordFosgate too (the hx2's are awsome) if u got with RF u should use an RF amp too, they sound hella lot better that way. my friend used to have 3 10" JL's that he ran off a lil 600 watt mtx amp and they would bump pretty good.

get 2 10" subs in a sealed box, not a bandpass and it will sound the best. the best sub all depends on the best price for you. more money equals better sound. if youre a little tight on cash i would look into alpine type e's. not very price but they sound nice as hell. i did a system for a kid i know with 2 12" type e's and im jealous, sounds real good, loud as shit to.

2 cerwin vega competition 12's, i couldn't be happier and they outhump my friends 2 mtx 10's and he's runnin more wattage.

i think the popular opinion is you need 2 of whatever speakers you get
i would go Cerwin Vega or Rockford, i've never heard of solobarics before

Just wanted to say welcome to the board, I don't really have any info for you on the stereo equip, I'm not into the stereo mod thing but good luck with the 240 and again welcome to the board.

solo barics are made by kicker, they are square subs that bump loud as hell.

get 2 solobaric 12's run mad watts to them and you wont be disapointed

it really depends on what you are looking for.
you'll get more bass out of the 12s but do you want to elminate all your trunk space for the added thump ?

I'll recommend that you match the subs with the RMS output wattage of your amp, the most important thing after that would be the sub enclosure..

how about 2 12" jbl`s with an alpine amp? my neighbor runs a shop by me and said i could get that setup custom-made for around $550.

JBL's are shit, Alpine amps are nice though. see if you can get the set up with a different sub. stay away from Sony. the most important part of the sub is the magnet. check that out before you buy. bigger the better, take a look at high end subs and you can see the magnet is huge while cheaper subs can have some pretty small magnets. they just wont hit as hard. and never look at peak power as a good rating for a sub.
