Engine Painting

Can you paint a after market Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold engine color or does it have to be left natural for heat reasons. Thanks in advance.

i have used heat treated paint to paint them with no problems....

painting it wont hurt the manifold itself, but it defeats the heat diffusing properties of the aluminum. Youll wind up loosing a few ponies because the heat that would have radiated away will now be transfered into your intake charge.

Dont take that to mean youre car will suddenly be a dog, im talking a few ponies, like MAYBE 3 or so. Not enough to regularly show on a dyno or anything.
