Hi all, I'm new to this forum and building car models. Here's my work in progress; the s2000 type-v. Well, as you can tell, it's nowhere near as good as most of the members here since it's my first car model, so I would like some feedback from the community. Thanks :P

Firstly Welcome here
The S2000 is coming along nicely, I assume that the body is still unpainted ? What colour are you going for?

Looks very good for a 1st attempt! Just don't rush it :)
Is that the kit that comes with the Mugen MF-10 wheels also? I would love to see those on the kit. I'm liking the D-Type flat bottom steering wheel too!

Which city are you from? <<( this question DOES have something to do with modeling, if he lives around me, I could tell him the 2 best hobby shops in our area ;) )

Nice job for a first kit! Notice you have quite a few Tamiya Enamels, so you're from Asia?

Why do you say that. I assume like the UK you can't get Tamiya Enamels in the US then. I got mine from Spain.

Well, that really depends. The kit's in Toronto costs twice as much in Hong Kong (where I got all of mine)

I'm from HK, but I live in Canada. I stocked up on the enamels when I was visiting HK in December. I got them for the s2k, r34, 360 modena, and rx-7

oh, before I forget.. Is there any body kits & accessories for the tamiya s2k? I'm looking for the Amuse front lip, Airwalker or OEM sideskirts, mugen hardtop and the top-secret cf hood.

Sure there are.
Have you gone to scale auto style. Chris is on this forum, his forum name is Flyonthewall.
His body kits are cast in resin.
You can buy his side skirts and his hood. I've bought his body kit except the roof.
If you really want the Amuse front lip you'll have to make it out of putty which I don't recommend for a begginer.
Here is the site http://www.scaleautostyle.com/s2000_bodykit.php
IMO I like the Marga Hills body kit better.

The 2nd time I went to Japan I saw an S-2000 with the mugen hard top. What a magnificent piece of engineering, it's 100% carbon fiber. Simply stunning.

I highly doubt that will work. If you want a carbon fiber hood, and they do look great on white cars, just get the decals.

This is a decal. I doubt you would get this realistic a finish with the "mesh" trick.

I do the Mugen hood and hardtop, full kit planned for later in the year. Even though i'm saying so myself, the good thing about these two items is that they are very easy to add to your model. The hood will require some relatively straight forward cutting whilst the hardtop will just slot into place.
