I need your opinions.

Hey guys I am buying 33 inch bfg's and I am considering a 2 inch body lift from AC. what are your opinions on this kit. whether you have it or not I would like to hear your opinions. also if I do get the lift one should I go for 33x10.5 as I plan or go to 33x12.5. I already have a 3 inch suspension lift. If you have done it before what have your experiences been Do you believe the 2 inch AC kit is very complete or should I go for the 3 inch kit .

Anti-Treehugger has 33's and went with 10.5" I'm not sure where he got the body lift from. You might PM him.

I wouldn't get the 12.5's. Too much weight and width. Unless you're just staying on road.

Nah I definitely want them for wheelin. If not I would go for at's. I was planning on the 10.5's for the sake of avoiding rubbing and still gaining height. I was just worried about side lug traction with a tall but thin tire. Would I be subjecting my sidewalls to undue stress while aired down. Also with the added height of tires and body lift would the thinner tires become a liability.

I don't think sidewalls would be much of a concern. I think the 33X10.50's would be the best bet if going to a 33" tire on the Xterra. Will require alot less work to fit, and will be alot less stress on steering components.

for the HUGE power loss going to 33's. If I remember correctly you are running 31's. When I went to 32's it was VERY noticeable. After putting on my IV intake and Gibson exhaust, it seems that my power is back to stock. I still am a little slower than stock on the freeway going up the mountains, but otherwise it's about the same. I do think that it's got better pickup speed now though. I don't know how much actual benefit you'll see between the 32's and 33's, except what's been noted and a considerable decrease in gas mileage. :eek:

I was thinking about doing the same 2" body lift, but I think I'll stay with 32's just because I can't afford new gears and I don't want anymore power loss. :confused:

AC 2" kit was alright. Not the best, certainly not the worst.
Install instructions were confusing. Didn't really have to do all the steps. I didn't relocate my radiator, extend my t-case shifter, extend the fuel filler line, or buy there rear bumper relocation bracket. Redrilled rear bumper, enlarged the t-case shifter hole, and removed bottom piece of radiator fan shroud instead. The rear most body mount bolt they sent was too short. Instead of sending a longer bolt they just sent a steel pipe spacer. Not the best solution but works. You will need to relocate the front bumper depending on what you got up there arb/stock.

Power loss is not that bad. But I have an auto, not sure how it feels in a stick. I just drive around with the overdrive shut off. Gas mileage sucks plain and simple but what can you expect.

I would go with 33x10.5 if you don't want to trim excess amounts of metal and plastic up front. 12.5's will rub.

The 3" body lift is probably a real pain. A lot of things need to be relocated. Right now I am at the limit with the brake lines, power steering reservoir, and fuel lines. Can't forget about steering either.
